Washington Times political reporter Jennifer Harper, writing from "Inside the Beltway", takes notice of Colorado's own Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ryan Frazier as "a man to watch" (something we here at home already knew):While Republicans dither over party identity, one of their own has stepped forward and cut to the chase with a clear take on what matters and what works in a complicated political landscape. "There is a better, more responsible way. It's called the American way," Ryan Frazier tells Inside the Beltway. Frazier -- who was about the only candidate approaching a clear-cut victory in the largely murky results of recent July survey of 600 Colorado online participants -- also conducted an interview with Newsmax TV. … [Read more...]

Beltway Buzz Growing over “Part Obama, Part Reagan” Ryan Frazier
The Ryan Frazier for U.S. Senate campaign is drawing more attention inside the Beltway -- this time as noted on the "Washington Whispers" blog of U.S. News and World Report's Paul Bedard:We're hearing lots of buzz about another Republican who plans to challenge Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, named just this year to replace Ken Salazar, who was plucked from the Senate by President Obama to run the Interior Department. The word is that this potential candidate, Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier, is part Obama, part Reagan. That would be the charisma of Obama, the philosophy of Reagan. Not a bad combination. As Bedard goes on to point out, Frazier's "New Way Forward" video is helping to introduce more Coloradans to this rising political … [Read more...]
New Ryan Frazier Video Effectively Sells “A New Way Forward” Message
El Presidente has posted the slick new video from the Ryan Frazier for U.S. Senate campaign. Check it out. It's really worth the 2+ minutes to view. Kudos both to the person(s) who recorded the raw video footage of Ryan's speech and to the person(s) who edited it into a high-quality product. It looks like "A New Way Forward" is going to be the theme for the Frazier campaign, and if continued to be presented as in this video, it will be effective. After all, who can deny that the Republican Party needs to forge a new way forward? On a side note, this afternoon only 20 minutes after I received the Frazier campaign email announcing the release of the video I received a fundraising "personal message" from another Republican U.S. Senate … [Read more...]
“Principled”, “Solutions-Driven” US Senate Candidate Ryan Frazier Speaks Out
(Co-authored by El Presidente and Ben DeGrow) We were privileged with the opportunity last Saturday to sit down and conduct an exclusive half-hour two-on-one interview with Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ryan Frazier (Frazier's two GOP primary contenders are Weld County district attorney Ken Buck and businessman Cleve Tidwell). The conversation was wide-ranging and informative. We left with a clearer picture of the candidate's vision and the campaign's direction. We began by bringing up a recent article in The Hill that portrayed Frazier as part of a "band of centrists", and asked him what he thought of the characterization. He responded: "I'm Ryan Frazier, and I do what I believe to be right. I've never been much for labels.... … [Read more...]
Bob Beauprez Eyeing 2009 Fundraising for Ryan Frazier and Ken Buck?
The Hill provides a birds-eye Beltway view of the Republican primary challenge shaping up to take out the indecisive and vulnerable Michael Bennet, Colorado's newly selected junior U.S. Senator. Writes Aaron Blake:Republicans lately have been talking a lot about fresh faces, with mixed success in actually obtaining them. While the GOP has lined up current and former House members in most other open primaries, Colorado stands out as the one where they may be content to go with a wholly new brand. That change would be particularly stark with [Ryan] Frazier, a 31-year-old African-American city councilman who has opened an exploratory committee for the race and appears set to run. But it’s also apparent with [Ken] Buck, a … [Read more...]
Ryan Frazier Out Stronger than Ken Buck – Don’t Expect to See Beauprez
If the earliest of trends are any indication, Ryan Frazier has come out of the gate looking the strongest in Colorado's Republican primary to challenge Michael Bennet for the U.S. Senate. After all, the rollout of the Ken Buck campaign could have been handled much more adeptly. But then again, the earliest of trends don't amount to much more than something for bloggers to write about. In the end, it should be a very interesting and competitive showdown between Frazier and Buck (with perhaps something to be heard from Cleve Tidwell). That's right. Count me among those who doesn't see former Congressman Bob Beauprez getting in this race. (At least as much as I can gather from a few fans on Ken Buck's Facebook page, and various … [Read more...]
Ryan Frazier Fires Up Crowd at Colorado Tax Day Tea Party
El Presidente has posted video of the Denver Tax Day Tea Party, but the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel has the video coverage of Colorado's largest Western Slope gathering. The apparent highlight of the event was the rousing speech of Ryan Frazier, who also announced a formal step toward a U.S. Senate campaign (watch the video below the fold): … [Read more...]
Ryan Frazier Dominates Competition in DougCo U.S. Senate Straw Poll
El Presidente has some potentially earth-shaking news (for active lovers of liberty and the handful of Colorado political insiders who are paying attention at this point, that is): Despite the weak and transparent efforts of the liberal Dead Governors to marginalize his campaign with ridicule, Aurora city councilman Ryan Frazier not only won but dominated the competition in a U.S. Senate straw poll among the conservative Douglas County GOP faithful (complete with video of Frazier's Saturday speech at the Douglas County Lincoln Day dinner). Other names in the straw poll included former Congressman Bob Beauprez, popular radio talk show host Dan Caplis, Weld County district attorney Ken Buck, and businessman Cleve Tidwell. This result … [Read more...]
Ryan Frazier Ekes Out Straw Poll Win, Weighs In on Marie Morrow Case
The Rocky Mountain Right straw poll for the Colorado GOP's 2010 U.S. Senate primary has concluded, and Aurora city councilman Ryan Frazier came out of nowhere to notch a narrow victory over former state legislative leader and current national committeeman Mark Hillman. (Bob Beauprez finished a distant third.) Either Frazier or Hillman would be an excellent candidate to represent the Republican Party next November. Speaking of Frazier, fellow RMA blogger Joshua Sharf reports on (and reprints) a letter the councilman wrote to Cherry Creek Schools superintendent Mary Chesley today, arguing for more lenient (and reasonable) treatment of Cherokee Trail High School senior Marie Morrow over the recent "zero-tolerance" expulsion outrage. … [Read more...]
Dick Wadhams Talks Up Ryan Frazier and Mark Hillman for U.S. Senate Race
Colorado Republican Party chairman Dick Wadhams recently sat down with the Colorado Statesman for an extended interview. There isn't much in the way of new information, but there is one passage worthy of comment. Namely, it's interesting to see whom Wadhams is talking up for the U.S. Senate race to challenge the newly-selected Michael Bennet: … [Read more...]
