Trying to build on Lefty hitman David Sirota’s smear that the anti-Obama Care movement is characterized by “racist undertones” leading to rampant death threats, the 5280 blog recounts:
He isn’t the only public figure in Colorado to be threatened for digging into the intricacies of the health care debate. Last month, Congressman John Salazar received a death threat during a protest in Grand Junction, leading his office to contact Capitol police and the FBI, according to The Pueblo Chieftain.
Umm, does 5280 not read the Denver Post? Two weeks ago from Lynn Bartels:
Grand Junction police say the report of a death threat against U.S. Rep. John Salazar turned out to be “unfounded.”
It’s obvious 5280 isn’t reading the People’s Press Collective either. We hope they do!
No doubt a few death threats have emerged from both sides of the heated health care debate, but they are on the fringe and don’t represent the mainstream of either side. Even with all the attention and attendance at town halls last month, even numbers of reported physical violence were not that great — only 10 cases, and 7 of them instigated by supporters of Obama Care.
Let’s focus on the substance of the issue, and why Obama’s prescriptions for health care reform are bad.
