A quick-hit double-link in the form of two recent essays I recommend as timely and relevant reading for thoughtful lovers of liberty: "The Welfare State and the Meaning of Life" by Greg Forster, whose work I have come to know through his excellent research and analysis of school choice issues, but in this case makes a strong moral case against socialism "Ron Paul's Secession Lies on Video" by libertarian lawyer and thinker Tim Sandefur, a college classmate of mine who delivers a remedial lesson in United States history and the Constitution to the Congressman and former presidential candidate ... It's one thing to speak up loudly against federal overreaches and for a renewed respect of the 10th Amendment, it's quite another to call for … [Read more...]
Remember the 10th Amendment! (We’ll Worry about the Alamo Later)
God bless Texas:Gov. Rick Perry joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,†Gov. Mississippi junior defensive end Greg Hardy, who had 8 1/2 sacks and 9 1/2 tackles for loss last season, opted to remain at Ole Miss. … [Read more...]

Both still have plenty of money to continue their brutal internecine political fistfight at least until Pennsylvania in April 22 - and probably beyond. Can't say it makes this blogger feel bad. Two points: 1. Many are going to overestimate the effect conservative cross-over voters had on Hillary's win in Texas. She won anyway, though with maybe a one-half to one percent increase in the final margin. 2. Attempts by Rep. Ed Perlmutter and other Colorado Democrat leaders to assure Democrat voters about the … [Read more...]
