There is a ton to catch up on heading into the election's final week: Palestra has the latest on vote fraud committed by Barack Obama staffers camping out in Ohio. Naysayers repeat the mantra that this fraud can't possibly affect the election, because it's on such a small scale. Focused so intently on potential direct impacts, they miss the point. The ever expanding, yet unknowable, scale of voter registration fraud has been part of feeding a public perception. Based on what we know about human nature and behavior, it will have some effect - how so, it's too hard to say. Newsbusters: Soldier’s Family Told Barack Obama Not to Wear Bracelet
Do you remember in Friday's presidential debate where the Obamessiah had his little "me too" moment, and showed off the deceased soldier's bracelet given for him to wear? Well, to his credit, Warner Todd Huston at Newsbusters dug a little deeper and found that the family asked Barack Obama not to wear the bracelet:[Father Brian] Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. But there has been a clear and measurable tendency on the media's part to ignore the party label far more when the story is about a Democrat. More proof emerges today: My Independence Institute colleague David … [Read more...]

The story of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's America-hating longtime spiritual adviser Jeremiah Wright has started to sink into the public psyche. Meanwhile, the center-right blogosphere keeps digging deeper. Since there's very little new I can add to this story from my remote observation post, here's a quick roundup of some of the latest developments and keenest analysis out there: Over at Powerline, Scott Johnson breaks down "The Audacity of Hype," while Paul Mirengoff speculates about Obama's attempts to distance himself from the Leftward fringes of liberation theology Jim Geraghty says Wright could be this campaign … [Read more...]
