What a way to demonize an “option”. The public option is intended to be just that, an “option”. How can we continue to crush a change before it even happens. The model of health coverage in the UK is not excellent, but the way it works, which could eventually pan out in this country as well, is that that everyone is part of the public option. For those who want fringe benefits there are private add on plans. Why is this such a terrifying idea for this nation? Or are we happier making sure that the 46 million Americans who still don’t have coverage, remain without coverage?
This nation needs to reevaluate its current model, considering our decline down the scale, at least according to the Wold Health Organization, recently ranking the US as #37. http://www.ourblook.com/component/option,com_sectionex/Itemid,200076/id,8/view,category/#catid107
This badge of honor comes at the expense of our blind capitalist freedom.
